Continuously baffled at how in-sync the Universe and I are lately; week after week I am BLOWN away by the people that I get to work alongside of and photograph. Kat + Preston are right up there filed under "my people". I had the most incredible time photographing them while they were visiting friends in Calgary this past weekend, and I feel like it's inevitable that we'll get to cross paths again very soon!
One really cool thing about photographing in the Rockies, is that there are times where I get to meet people who are experiencing the gigantic presence of our mountains for the very first time in their lives; and although I can't remember my first experience with the Rockies (I've seen them for as long as I can remember), getting to experience their newness, mammoth, wise, and strong presence through the eyes of someone seeing them for the first time has to feel just as incredible.Read More
One of my very favourite things about spending time with a new couple during their engagement session, is that I gradually see more into who they are the more we get to spend time together; with patience and an open-heart, we get to see more and more of what makes someone, someone, and I'm so thankful for that.Read More
The more you scroll through Selina + Hayden's engagement session, the more you'll believe me when I say that I don't think I've ever laughed that hard, all the way throughout a session ever before. I had such a great time out in Kananaskis out with these two!!Read More
Picture a heritage home, just shy of 100 years old and full of the most incredible character and quirks that your mind can imagine; now, imagine that home surrounded by a 10 foot tall fence of the most fragrant purple lilacs; standing tall, yet swaying gently in a summer breeze. Can you feel the breeze? Hear the bumblebees and the birds as the sun starts it's descent? Welcome to Gloria + Graeme's engagement session; it was all of those things and more.
An cuddly in-home session with Carissa + John; couldn't have asked for a better space to photograph these two in, or a more perfect outdoor atmosphere. We were able to play around in doors, while the rain continued to pour outside.Read More
If you could dream up the perfect night to be out in the mountains shooting, last night with these two would have been exactly what you’d imagine: amazing tones, total calmness, summer-level warmth, nearby grazing deer, and everything else that is good in the worldRead More
Embracing our endless winter once again out in Kananaskis with Julia + Jarrett; soooo much goodness, laughter, hair blowing, and snow happened last night with these two.Read More
Life can get complicated, that's no surprise; but whenever things get to be overwhelming, I like to pause, take a breathe, and break things down into their simplest forms. One thing about life that I will forever cherish, is a simple love; that's what these two share, a love that--when it comes down to it--is simple, it's an easy love filled with showing up, a contagious light-heartedness, a gentle kindness and ease in the presence of one-another. I am so grateful that my work allows me to spend time in the company of a love like this.Read More
When the winter feels long and the days are passing slowly, an adorable home filled with adorable people + puppies is the perfect cure for re-discovering some inspiration. Thank you guys so much for allowing me into your space.Read More
I'll let you in on a little secret: I have literally been waiting what feels like my whole life to photograph Miranda with the love of her life. Over more than the past twelve months, I've watched her work on herself; step away from all that no longer served her, took herself out on dates and adventures, took huge risks, moved to the Island, chased new dreams, and to wrap everything else up in the most beautifully-designed-full-circle-ribbon, she met Tom.Read More
The mood, the tones, the wind-whipped hair, the temperature, the feels; everything about Kelsey and Bennett's engagement session out near Bragg Creek was all that this time of year embodies (as well as all that my photography-fall dreams are made of haha). Eager and excited for these two's wedding next summer, as well as to have them as a part of my 2018 wedding and elopement family.Read More
There aren't too many people who get me, or who I can feel safe and comfortable around; but, over the last two years I have found that in Dawn. She's been a good friend of mine ever since we've been in Calgary, and more recently, we've also--Mark, Birdy, and I--spent more time with Nick, and we just adore these two.Read More
These two travelled out West this month for a long sight-seeing excursion through Alaska and the Rocky Mountains. I was lucky enough to be able to connect up with them while they were in Banff for a couples session in the mountains.Read More
