Dawn is Coming, Open Your Eyes -- {honest thoughts}

Life is messy, and that's just how it's intended to be. Things don't always go as planned, friendships don't always last forever, we don't always feel happy, our bodies don't always feel their best; but, that's just how it's intended to be. Life isn't about coasting day by day. Life is filled with peaks and valleys, highs and lows, great and not-so-great days. We work our way through the struggles in order to fully acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments. You're going to have to make hard decisions, you're going to have to ask yourself where things went wrong, you're going to have to be real, and above all else, you're going to have to rely on yourself.

"But there is a truth and it's on our side Dawn is coming open your eyes Look into the sun as a new days rise"

I believe that as humans, we have a hard time walking away. We've intertwined our souls so intricately to something or someone, and it's easier to leave things as they are rather than to attempt to untangle the delicate filaments. It's messy, it's hard, and above all else, it's painful.

I believe that as humans, we are always searching for others approval. We constantly yearn for empty compliments and artificial praise and encouragement because it's easier than turning inwards and finding peace with the fact that we aren't on the path that we had initially envisioned for ourselves. It's messy, it's hard, and above all else, it's painful.

I believe that as humans, we have a hard time letting others in. We've become so accustomed to closing our souls off to strangers, friends, and even family, because it's easier than letting the inundation of raw emotion rush in. We closer the door on vulnerability, because it's messy, it's hard, and above all else, it's painful.

DSC_3200-2 I also believe that as humans we have an infinite internal resource of grace and patience. We have this delicate, fascinatingly-intricate, and strong body that serves us even in the times of emotion and physical neglect. I believe that we have the hearts of warriors; hearts that are capable of fully and unapologetically loving ourselves. We have hearts that will wait loyally until we're ready to turn inward when we begin to seek approval. I believe that we have souls filled with the utmost vulnerability that yearns to be be expressed and understood in it's rawest form. Above all else, I also believe that it’s only human to need to walk away from people and situations that are no longer serving us. Your body, heart, mind, and soul are all rooting for you to open your arms to the swelling mass of vulnerability that is patiently awaiting; to make the decisions that you need to make, not because they’re easy, but because they’re what is right for you.
