Kaihla Tonai - Free Spirit - Self Portrait Session

Self-portraits have always been my favourite form of self-expression. They are my escape from a busy day, a look into my over-active mind, and most importantly, the quickest route out of an inspirational drought. Last week I was feeling just like everyone else in Alberta; uninspired, unmotivated, fed up with winter, and straight up annoyed with being trapped inside day-in and day-out! I escaped the mundanity of every life in my dwelling place, and created some of the first self-portraits (excluding instagram selfies....hahah) that I have really taken this year. kaihla_tonai_alberta_indie_wedding_photographer_0032

A few of these have been shared on Facebook + Instagram already, but I thought I'd share a handful more with you guys here on the blog! Never forget to take the time for yourself; it's too easy to get so wrapped up in routines & dayplanners and neglect that crucial quiet time that your mind so often craves.

Have you experimented with self portraits in the past?? If so, I'd LOVE to see some of your favourite shots/blog posts about them. If you have a post on facebook or a blog link featuring some of your self-portraits, leave them in the comments below!!

***INTERESTED IN A SESSION LIKE THIS?? I'm holding a Free-Spirited Boudoir Marathon next Saturday (April 12th, 2014) and I have TWO remaining time slots available!!
