Michelle + Stephen - August 31, 2016
One of the things that fascinates me about human beings, is the ability to connect so personally with each other, regardless as to whether or not those people have met in the past. Usually with my wedding couples, I meet them long before we commit to working with each other, as well as intermittently throughout the following months leading up to their wedding or elopement day. There are rare times, where due to geographical circumstances, we aren't able to get together once in between our initial chats, let alone multiple times throughout the year to hang out; Michelle and Stephen were one of the later occurrences. We had been talking and sharing for months and months over email, but being separated by a province didn't allow us much flexibility to hang out; so instead, Mark and I travelled out to Vancouver Island, where we met these two wonderful humans on the afternoon of their elopement. What I find to be the fascinating part, is how we all felt so comfortable together as though we had spent time together before. Michelle and Stephen were so unbelievably easy to chat with; they had this calm presence to them that I am always instantly drawn to in other people. Above all else, these are two of the kindest-hearted people that have crossed our paths in the last little while. Post-elopement they treated us to warm drinks from a local cafe, and we then went back to their stunning beach front hotel where the four of us shared their wedding pie (also from a local bakery in Ucluelet).
Michelle + Stephen, you two truly have hearts of gold. We cannot thank you enough for being the reason that we were so lucky to take this trip out West. I appreciate your unbelievable generosity, your easy-going personalities, the love that radiates when you're spending time together, and your trust with me and my processes.
